Sam holds a First Class degree from Oxford in English, an M.Phil. from Cambridge, and a Ph.D. from Queen Mary, University of London, where he also taught. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
A full-time private tutor since 2019, he specialises in scholarship examinations at major British public schools, Oxbridge entrance, A-level and GCSE tuition, personal statements and essay prizes. He also runs his ‘Salon de Conversation’, a forum for bespoke tutorial sessions for adults in literature, philosophy, theology, and history.
Beyond teaching, Sam is a published poet, a musician, and a reviewer for the Times Literary Supplement.
